Local anesthesia than procaine strong, 10 times larger than procaine. Toxicity is also large, 10-12 times larger than procaine. Can be through the mucosa, mainly for mucosal anesthesia. The role of rapid, 1 to 3 minutes to take effect. Maintain 2-3 hours. Ophthalmology with 0.5% to 1% solution, no corneal injury and other serious adverse reactions. Nasal throat with 1% to 2% solution, the total shall not exceed 20ml. Application should be added to every 3ml 0.1% hydrochloric acid adrenaline solution 1 drop. Infiltration anesthesia with 0.025% to 0.03% solution, nerve block with 0.1% to 0.3% solution. Spinal anesthesia with 10 ~ 15mg mixed with cerebrospinal fluid injection. Epidural anesthesia with 0.15% to 0.3% solution, combined with lidocaine when the maximum concentration of 0.3%. Due to greater toxicity, generally do not do infiltration anesthesia.
Extreme: infiltration anesthesia, nerve block, 1 0.1g.
Tetracaine Application
Tetracaine is a local anesthetic (numbing medicine). It works by blocking nerve signals in your body.Tetracaine injection is given as an epidural injection into the spinal column to produce numbness during labor, surgery, or certain medical procedures.Tetracaine may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Tetracaine hydrochloride is indicated for the production of spinal anesthesia for procedures requiring two to three hours. Parenteral administration of Tetracaine hydrochloride stabilizes the neuronal membrane and prevents initiation and transmission of nerve impulses thereby effecting local anesthesia.
The onset of action is rapid, and the duration is prolonged (up to two or three hours or longer of surgical anesthesia).Tetracaine hydrochloride is detoxified by plasma esterases to aminobenzoic acid and diethylaminoethanol.
